About me

How I became a coach…

Foto na web frontSport and physical activity has always been part of my life and that’s why becoming a coach was my natural decision. Since my childhood I was involved in all kinds of sports as an amateur. At the age of 14 years, I started to go to the gym and that was my first contact with the “real steel”.

After several years I became a Junior Champion of Slovak Republic in Powerlifting in weight category up to 75 kg in IPF federation and International Junior Champion of Slovak Republic in Powerlifting RAW in weight category up to 75 kg in WPC federation.

After graduating from high school, I started studying at the Comenius University in Bratislava, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, majoring in Coaching. During my studies I have been in Finland twice for four months. First time I have studied International Teaching Education in Oulu, the second time I worked as an intern researcher in Neuromuscular Research Centre in Jyväskylä. These two exchange programs helped me to improve and understand the principles of testing, coaching and scoring physical functions of human body.

When I returned back to Slovakia, my passion has grown even further, so I joined the research team studying the effects of physical activity on elderly people and neuromuscular diseases, such as Alzheimer or Parkinson disease. Part of this research became my master’s thesis.

Thanks to participation on these research programs, my most important advantage is understanding the connection between theory, research and real life applications.
